The Institute for Development of Community Strengths (INDECOS)

INDECOS was started in 1991 to serve as a community development and training organization. We work irrespective of race, religion, caste and party politics. INDECOS draw more attention towards disadvantage people. During 1991 – 2019 INDECOS have implemented over 87 –projects in Matara, Galle and Hambanthota districts. Comprise 23 staff members to operate the organization 21 of them are females. We were funded by more than 35 donors including World bank, UN agencies etc. Just after Tsunami disaster we started our women Entrepreneurship Program (WEP). It is sustainable and running as a micro credit program INDECOS serve women, Children, Youth, Disable and many vulnerable target populations. Transparencies, Quality of works and accountability are major features of INDECOS.
